BIRTHDAY 2014

We have had many changes at our house. The biggest currently is Mike and AJ are collaborating on some artwork. See https://www.google.com/#q=broadway+gallery+longview+wa August 2014

AJ has been taking full advantage of the summer schedule and sleeps in very late into the day. He adores music and lets us know when he wants a change by vocal noises. Cold Play, Talk Talk, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and what ever else seems to grab his attention.
We have two cats, two dogs and a hamster. They bring instant joy with their unconditional love.
We also have switched things up and are homeschooling the girls. When we look at our approach to life with AJ, we already have been homeschooling him so it didn't seem like a big leap. AJ does have public school that he participates from home with for 2 hours a day during the school year. This works well for all of us.
When my children were born I have always said that they would be my greatest/toughest teachers. What a beautiful thing.

AJ's Birthday will soon here. The BIG 15!!! AJ is a Freshman in High School. I have to constantly tell myself this. All I can say is where does time go.
Someone recently inquired about AJ and said the website has not been updated in some time. I was very excited to know the site does get looked at once in awhile. So I am inspired to make more posts.
So, on we go with an AJ update. AJ LOVES music. He is very upset when we take too long to change a video on you tube or when there is an ad which is mostly the case. With a wide variety of nurses and family he has quite an eclectic mix of music styles. Rock on!!
Health wise AJ is doing pretty good. We have used the vest therapy for many years and this along with inline (Ballard) suctioning has kept him well. I think I have info on the vest therapy in previous posts.
AJ's world was shaken up in 2012 with 14 new nurses oriented to AJ and several previous nurses leaving. Currently he has 8+ nurses. He did fine with the transition but I do recall a period where he just didn't want to respond to anyone. Kinda escaping in his own way I suppose. It was short lived but oh how typical of a teenager.
Our family has grown. We now have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 hermit crabs, 1 fish and 1 hamster. I often refer to our "zoo" in conversation.
